I'm writing this post to inform you guys that I am alive and breathing. I haven't been writing as much because I've been so busy with the school. This semester is challenging but I can handle.
Mid-terms are approaching this week on March 2, 2009 and I MUST STUDY. As far as the music, I did record The Dream remix, but I am going to re-track the vocals because I don't like them.
I am still going to finish the last days of my Black History Facts so look out for that.
Hello/Goodbye is still the album, and I have some good news for you guys regarding my music.

Black History Fact #13 & 14
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY
I decided to talk about two people that were not inventors. We will briefly share some insight on Bessie Smith and Joesph Searles.
Bessie Smith makes her first recording "Down Hearted Blues" that sold 800,000 copies for Columbia Records. Smith was one of the biggest Black singers in the 1920s.
The New York Stock Exchange lets in its first Black member, Joseph Searles, in 1970. He trained as a floor partner with Newburger, Loeb.

Black History Fact #12
In today's edition of Black History Facts, we will discuss the original FLY BOYS (LOL), The Tuskegee Airman.
The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American pilots in the U.S. armed forces. Beginning in 1941, select groups of extensively tested and rigorously trained African-Americans were trained at The Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. The Tuskegee Airmen are depicted in the G.I. Joe action figure series.

Black History Fact #8 & 9
There two (2) Black History Facts because I didn't post BHF (Black Hostory Fact) #8 yesterday. Dr. Daniel Hale Williams and Victor Blanco are the topic of discussion today.
Dr. Daniel Hale Williams was born in Pennsylvania and attended medical school in
Chicago, where he received his M.D. in 1883. He founded the Provident Hospital in
Chicago in 1891, the oldest free-standing Black-owned hospital in the United States. Dr.Williams was also the only African-American in a group of 100 charter members of the American College of Surgeons in 1913.
Victor Blanco was the Black mayor of San Antonio in 1809, before slavery was
abolished, while Texas was still part of Mexico.

Black History Facts #6
ATTN: Since I have been posting these black history facts late in the day, I promise to start posting them by the afternoon of each day.
Today we will learn a fact about Lousi Latimer. Lousi Latimer, was the only African American engineer/scientist member of the elite Edison Pioneers research and development organization. Until Latimer's process for making carbon filament, Edison's light bulbs would burn only for a few minutes; however, Latimer's filament burned for hours.

Quote for Today
Good morning! I was doing some reading and I came across this qoute that I felt can encourage others. The quote is from Orison Swett Marden which states,
"Take the lantern in the hand, and you will always have light enough for your next step, no matter how dark, for the light will move along with you. Do not try to see a long way ahead. "One step is enough for me." - Orison Swett Marden.
This quote reminds me of driving at night pitch black, back and fourth from Detroit to Minnesota. The only thing I could see was the couple feet of road projected by the head lights from the car.

Black History Facts #1 - 4
For the remaining days in February, I will be posting some interesting facts about black history.
FACT 1
February was chosen as Black History Month because two important birthdays occur in
February—that of Abraham Lincoln, the author of the Emancipation Proclamation, and that of Frederick Douglass , an early African American abolitionist.
FACT 2
If you enjoy buying fresh food from across the country at your local supermarket,
you have an African American inventor named Frederick McKinley Jones to thank. He invented the air-cooling units used in food transporting trucks in the 1930's.
FACT 3
Born in New Haven, Connecticut, Edward Alexander Bouchet was the first African American to graduate (1874) from Yale College. In 1876, upon receiving his Ph.D. in physics from Yale, he became the first African American to earn a doctorate. Bouchet spent his career teaching college chemistry and physics. Awarded more than 60 patents over the course of his life, 40 of which involved refrigeration equipment.
FACT 4
The U.S. Capitol and the White House were both constructed with the help of free
Blacks and slaves, working alongside white laborers and craftsmen.

I Am 20...Today's My Birthday
Twenty (20) years ago a mother gave birth to a son, a natural born champion that would eventually become a man. Twenty (20) years later, that son is me and I am Danami.
I've been blessed to see another birthday and I am happy about that. I am so proud of who I've become. I'm not ashamed of me nor the lessons I had to learn to help me reach this point. Life is good, despite the economy issues and other adversities. I am great because I am Me, I am King, I am a Champion, I am Danami.
Happy Groundhogs Day and Happy Birthday to those that are born in February.
(Misc.) Another reason why I am calling my album Hello/Goodbye is that I just said Hello to being twenty (20) and said Goodbye to being nineteen (19). Hello/Goodbye is a transition period.
I'm on my way to class, so I will talk to you guys later!

Super Bowl 43
Today is Super Bowl Sunday and I am working on homework. Umm correction, I will start my homework immediately following this blog (LOL). So many questions but only one answer, "I am not watching Super Bowl Sunday". Why, because I'm not into sports like I was growing up. Even then, I was always into basketball. I am going to give you an example of how much I am out of the loop when it comes to sports. Example, I didn't even know who was playing in the Super Bowl. You can't believe it (T-Pain), well it's true. I have work to do, I had my fun all day yesterday. If you are reading this anytime after the Super Bowl, leave a comment letting me know who won. Thanks! Hello/Goodbye
