MUSIC REVIEW: R.Kelly, When A Women Loves

My plan was to wait until tomorrow to write how I feel about R.Kelly’s new record When A Women Loves but I was so moved I felt the urgency to express my feelings.

Over the years we have witness R.Kelly do the incredible. From Honey Love to Trapped In The Closet, the variety of this man is impeccable. At times I’ve been one to not acknowledge Kellz for his brilliant songwriting. When I think about jams like Step In The Name of Love (which was written for Stevie Wonder-but didn’t want it), Same Girl, or I Believe I Can Fly, I am quickly reminded and blown away by the consistence and talent that he posses

When A Women Loves doesn’t fall far from Robert Kelly’s talent tree. The sonic approach of the record revives sounds of the ’60′s, reminiscent of a hybrid of Otis Redding and Donny Halthaway’s ballads. It’s a no brainer that this songs sticks out from the R&B songs of today. Kellz showcases his vocal ability which intensifies the feeling of the record. In my book of greatness this is a winner. I look forward to hearing R.Kelly’s Love Letter once it’s released this fall.
