Thoughts Before Graduation

Yesterday, I went to my last class of the semester and last class before I graduate tomorrow. I feel more like an Alumi than a student already. Lots of people put emphasis on celebrating after graduation, but very few tell the melancholy tale of moving on to a new chapter in life and leaving behind something great. Walking down the hall for the last time as a student was emotional. As much as its a rush to graduate, the thought of leaving isn’t quite pleasing.
Like most students, I’ve grown accustomed to my surroundings, like my orange cafe, fancy leather sofas around the school, and the constant melodies and beats rehearsed in the practice rooms. For four years this have been my life, Monday through Friday 8am – 6pm. I enjoyed my time at McNally Smith. The community of diverse people connecting through music is powerful. I’ve meet people from all over the world at college. Business partners, collaborators, and friends were all made here.
This is a reflection of my experience that will be missed. This is the letter before moving on. My goodbye.
